The tour through the subregional area of the `Axarquía´

This excursion takes us into the heart of the province of Malaga and aswell also the subregional area named the `Axarquía´.

Alfarnate is a typical village in Andalusia. Here you can still admire many well-preserved city monuments, the moorish architecture and quaint details that are worth the visit. In this village, the old `Venta de Alfarnate´, is a restaurant - museum with one of the best and typical gastronomic delights of the province of Malaga where frequented by Alfonso XIII and other important personalities.

The village of Alfarnatejo is surrounded by three special mountain peaks: the `Chamizo´, the `Gallo´ and the `Vilo´. This place is unique in the province of Malaga. Due to the abrupt geography, the difficult terrain and remoteness, it became a popular refuge for bandits, now part of a romantic legend.

Alfarnate is a village in the mountains of the province of Malaga, with its narrow little streets, simple houses has a church called `Cristo de Cabrilla´ built in the XVIII century. The complexity of the mountain ranges and gorges are a powerful lure for hikers and nature lovers.
